Press Release: Consultant Discusses Shack. Plan

The Township of Scotch Plains distributed the above press release Monday, which was composed by John Madden of Maser Consulting, the Red Bank-based planning firm hired to study and draw-up the redevelopment plan for . The Scotch Plains Mayor and Council , which can be viewed by clicking the smaller PDF thumbnail above, at their regular monthly meeting May 3. 

Township Manager Christopher Marion, contacted by telephone Wednesday, stated that the press release was not issued in response to numerous comments that have been posted on Patch about the redevelopment plan. 

"It was a press release that didn't get sent out in advance of the meeting, and it didn't make sense to send it the day after, so the decision was made to revise it," Marion said. "If there are questions or issues to be addressed, maybe that press release, that summary of what happened, will more clearly outline the action the council has taken."
