Scotch Plains, Fanwood Power Outage Update

Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr and SPPD Sgt. Ernesto Hernandez send email updates Monday.

THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE FROM FANWOOD MAYOR COLLEEN MAHR WAS DISTRIBUTED VIA EMAIL AT 10:06 A.M. MONDAY:

Power remains out for many Fanwood residents. PSE&G is working on it, but they tell us it could be "on our around September 5th" before all power is restored. Residents should plan accordingly. Please do not call 911 to find out when the power is coming back on because the police do not have that information. You can try calling PSE&G's customer service number, 1-800-436-PSEG.

Union County Emergency Declaration is lifted. Thus, all travel restrictions are lifted.

Public works and Fanwood Police hope to have Midway Avenue open by the end of the day Monday. A downed tree is being removed. All other major streets in the Borough are open. Some side streets remain closed as tree removal and utility work progresses.

Fanwood Borough offices are open for business.
