“We look forward to a spirited campaign this year where we will bring our message of fiscal responsibility, shared services and small government to the residents of Scotch Plains” said Beckerman.
Kevin Glover is currently serving his second term on the Town Council. Glover is credited with saving the summer concert series (at no cost to tax payers) and for fighting for the return the sewer surplus back to the residents of Beckerman said.
“It is time to change the direction in Scotch Plains,” said Councilman Glover. “For the past 10 years our town has suffered from one party control that has led to out of control spending, skyrocketing property taxes, and the newly created sewer tax. If we want to change how the town is run, we have to change the leadership.”
Colleen Gianlenella, a newcomer to local politics, is a lifelong educator who works for the Clark Public School District. Gialnella and her husband, a law enforcement officer, have two children.
“As a teacher, I have spent my entire career working to improve the lives of my students,” said Gianlenella. “Now I want to take those skills and work to improve my community. More than ever, Scotch Plains needs new leadership. I’m excited to run with Kevin, and look forward to campaigning.”
