This Week Ahead: Week of Monday, March 12

On Monday, SPF Patch highlights the happenings around town each week.

On Monday, March 12, the will host a Jobseekers Networking Event  from 7pm - 9pm. This is an opportunity for members of the community to explore contacts in target companies and interact with other jobseekers. The JCC is located at 1391 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains.

On Wednedsay, March 14, Assemblyman Jon Bramnick (R-21, Westfield), will speak to local Rotarians and their guests at the Rotary Club of Fanwood-Scotch Plains luncheon hosted by the in downtown Scotch Plains at 12:15 p.m. The community at large is invited to attend, as this will be the Rotary Club’s bi-annual Guest Day.

On Thursday, March 15, the Scotch Plains Town Council will host the municipal budget workshop in the second floor Council Meeting Room of the Scotch Plains Municipal Building,430 Park Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.

This year’s Repertory Theater production of will open at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 16 at the Maya Ungar auditorium at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School. Following opening night, the cast will perform Cole Porter’s classic 1920s musical again on Saturday, March 17th at 8:00pm, Sunday, March 18th at 2:00pm, Thursday, March22nd at 7:00pm, Friday, March 23rd at 8:00pm and Saturday, March 24th at 8:00pm. The cast of 56 SPFHS students is directed by SPFHS alum, musically directed and produced by Choral Director,, and choreographed by Gisa Dilrio.

New Jersey Blood Services urges residents to donate blood on Saturday, March 17, at 7:30 a.m. to help maintain a safe an adequate supply for critical hospital patients. This drive will be held at the Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Avenue, Scotch Plains. On Saturday, March 17, from 7 to 11 p.m., in Scotch Plains will host a fundraiser to help the rebuild their home. The O’Briens on February 9. In light of this tragic event, the fundraiser is meant to be a fun event, an Irish good time to celebrate the joys of life. The cost of entry is $25. Refreshments include beer, wine and soda along with pizza, and sub sandwiches. There will also be live music, provided by the Broadcasters and a raffle where guests can win prizes including a ski or Long Beach Island vacation, and a day of beauty at Salon Bella in Westfield.
