Weinberg to Make Campaign Stop in Fanwood

The lieutenant governor candidate will be joined by other local Democrats.

Gov. Corzine's running mate, State Sen. Loretta Weinberg, will make a stop in Fanwood on Oct. 14, according to the latest release from the Fanwood Democratic Committee.

Weinberg will be attending a reception in her honor at Union County Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella's home. Assemblywoman Linda Stender, who chairs the Fanwood Democratic Committee, and Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr invite the public to share an evening of cocktails and conversation with Weinberg, who would become the state's first lieutenant governor if elected.

“We are delighted to have such a distinguished visitor coming to Fanwood,” Mahr said. "Sen. Weinberg is a thoughtful, experienced leader in the Senate and she will be a valuable addition to the Corzine administration when she is elected to be our first Lieutenant Governor.”

Other local Democratic candidates, including Fanwood Borough Council President Donna Dolce and David Valian, will also be at the event. The reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mirabella's home, located at 11 Tillotson Road in Fanwood. The suggested donation for the event is $70 per person.
