Redeemer School - Fun at Festifall, Thanks to our Volunteers, and Answers to your Questions

A great time was had by all at the booth for Redeemer Lutheran Church and School.

A special thanks goes out to all of our volunteers who helped make the day a success

  • youth and adult members of our congregation who spent many hours making balloon animals to hand out to young children who passed by
  • volunteers from our school who helped share their school experience with interested parents and why they love Redeemer
  • for the help of our school board, staff, and PTO members, whom work tirelessly and passionately to see that the next generation of children are brought up with a solid foundation built upon academics and faith.

Thank you all!

Here are some more answers to some questions that were floating around during the event:

Do you have Drop-In Care? And for what ages?

Yes! While we primarily cater to children from 2 1/2 - Kindergarten, our drop-in care is available for children, ages 2 ½-Elementary. Our fabulous drop-in care is open, Monday-Friday from 12pm-6pm for 2 1/2 - Kindergarten and 3:30pm-6pm for any elementary-aged children.

Do my children have to attend the school or church to use the Drop-In Care Program?

No, we welcome any children from the local community and surrounding communities. We have had children come stay with us that have attended other preschools and schools in local towns such as Westfield, Clark, and Cranford.  And we have even had students come from more distant towns like Rahway, Edison, and Colonia.

How much does it cost?

$8/hr

What do the children do while in Drop-In Care?

Everything!  We call it our 3-in-1 program. Lunch Bunch, Enrichment, and Extended Care wrapped into one fun program. They can come at 12pm and bring a lunch and join our Lunch Bunch crowd. After lunch, we play! We have fun! All types of toys and activities will keep these little minds busy. Then, we settle down with some quieter activities and naps for those who are still in need of some much needed rest. Then, we have structured enrichment scheduled each day from 2-3:30pm by our Pre-K teacher. For the rest of the day, it’s play, play, play!

What if I just need to run an errand. Can I drop them off for just an hour? Can their older sibling come too?

Of course, we know how hard it can be to get those errands done or make that quick appt. We are here to serve.

What are your class sizes like?

One of the great things about Redeemer is the special attention given to each individual student. Class sizes range from 8-15 with sometimes 2-3 teachers and aides per classroom.

What makes Redeemer different from other preschools?

You can envision us as your old fashioned preschool in a modern world. We stand out in a good way! While incorporating the needs of our modern society with our technological advances and style of living, we also stress the importance of slowing down enough to enjoy life’s precious moments.

We are unashamedly a Christian school.  Our desire to grow the whole child—intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially—in a safe environment is a priority. We have amazing teachers and an amazing curriculum. You will be amazed by your child’s growth throughout the year. The faculty, staff, and school board of Redeemer Lutheran School are committed to providing a learning environment where students are prepared to:

  • Master fundamental academic and “common sense” skills, and become "Learners for Life"
  • Develop their individual talents and abilities
  • Strive for excellence and balance in all aspects of life
  • Learn to handle disappointments
  • Become disciples for life
  • Adapt to a rapidly changing social environment
  • Serve others and be globally responsible citizens in society
  • Become Christian role models for present and future generations
