DOG OF THE WEEK - Help Catherine Find Her Forever Home

Catherine, a 14-week-old pure bred Blue Heeler, was named in honor of Catherine Hubbard, one of the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting victims. She is looking for a new home. Will it be yours?

A few weeks ago, Home for Good Dog Rescue received a donation in memory of Catherine Hubbard, one of the victims in the Newtown, Connecticut school shootings. Along with the donation was a note explaining that Catherine loved animals and would have been happy to see a donation in her name go toward saving the lives of innocent dogs.

Home for Good Dog Rescue was moved by this generosity. To honor Catherine, Home for Good Dog Rescue named their next rescued female dog after her.

Catherine is pure bred Blue Heeler, approximately 14 weeks old. She was found in an abandoned barn in Georgia. Catherine had been kicked by a cow and suffered a broken femur in her right leg. The surgery went very well. Pins were installed in her leg toward her upper hip. Catherine’s surgery, medication and recovery boarding was paid for by Home for Good Dog Rescue.

Catherine is a sweet, gentle, loving dog who will soon be in need of a forever home. She is now having a cozy recovery in her foster home until she is ready to be adopted, which will be in about 3 weeks.

For more information on Catherine or any of the other dogs available through Home for Good Dog Rescue, please visit the Home for Good website, call (908) 598-8212 or email contacthfg@gmail.com.

If you are considering adopting Catherine or one of the other Home for Good dogs, please complete an online application at www.homeforgooddogs.org. A pre-approved application is required for all “meet and greets” and adoptions.
