A recent study done by the National Institute of Early Childhood Education Research showed that the benefits of a quality preschool education extend into a child’s teenage years. Those who received early education did better academically than those who received low quality early child education or went without.

The district’s preschool program is supervised not only by a teacher certified in Early Child Education, but also by a full time instructional aid. These teachers help create a nurturing environment while facilitating development in every area from physical strength and dexterity to self-confidence and development.

Children will also participate in lessons that incorporate music, art, media and physical education given by instructors that specialize in those areas. Your child’s teachers are also familiar with the district’s kindergarten program and are fully equipped to help your child gear up for the next step in their education.

As part of the Creative Curriculum - one of the five research-based curricula approved by the New Jersey Department of Education Office of Early Childhood Education - the preschool program also emphasizes improving cognitive and language skills.
