Athlete of the Week: Vinnie Bianco

Athletic Director Ryan Miller selected junior goalie for the Boys Varsity Soccer Team as the Athlete of the Week.

As an outstanding season for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School Boys Varsity Soccer team came to a close, it seemed only fitting that Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Ryan Miller selected Vinne Bianco, junior goalie as Athlete of the Week. Miller commented not only on Bianco’s superior athletic skill, but also on his character.

“Bianco is simply one of the best young men I have encountered in athletics,” Miller stated.

Coach Tom “Brez” Breznitsky also commented on Bianco’s performance this season.

“He had 15 shutouts and allowed only seven goals while he was the goalkeeper [this season.] Vinnie just started playing goal full time last year so his accomplishments are tremendous. He was one of the hardest working players on the team and a guy who has the courage of a lion,” Breznitsky stated.
