Comics Illustrator to Appear at Auction Oct. 1

Mount Saint Mary Academy hosts an art auction Saturday, according to the press release below, which was distributed by the school on Sept. 23.

Comic illustrator John Stanisci will appear at the Mount Saint Mary Academy Art Auction in Watchung on Saturday, Oct. 1. Stanisci’s appearance will be one of many notable attractions at the auction, which will include a guitar signed by Paul McCartney and a drum cover autographed by the Rolling Stones.

An illustrator for Marvel and DC Comics for 18 years, Stanisci has worked on characters such as Spiderman, The Hulk, Batman and Catwoman. Most recently, he lent his talents to Batman Beyond, the trade paperback which premiered at number one on the New York Times best seller list for graphic novels. Stanisci rarely signs his work, but he will be available to autograph his illustrations at the Mount auction. He will also schedule custom-designed, private commissions upon request.

Presented in association with the Marlin Art Auction House, the Mount auction will include a variety of pieces from artists such as Tarkay, Holland, Neiman, Delacroix, Dali and Boulanger. Sports items and collectible pieces, including the McCartney and Stones pieces, will also be available. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity.
