Global Climate Change and New Jersey's Wildlife - Duke Farms

Global Climate Change and New Jersey's Wildlife

Thursday, November 17, 7:30 to 9 p.m.

The Duke Farms is hosting Globel Climate Change and New Jersey's Wildlife.  In this presentation and discussion, we will look at the challenges wildlife may face, as well as the difficulty scientists and the public will have interpreting changes due to climate in light of other human influences.  During the Pleistocene Ice Ages, large glaciers covered major areas of North America as far south as central New Jersey.  For the last 15,000 years, gradual warming has been accompanied by the northward expansion of plant and animal species.  Given sufficient time, a delicate balance allowed somewhat stable habitats to develop.  With current evidence pointing to accelerated warming on a global scale, how will our local wildlife be affected by these changes?
