Rewire for Rehire - Scotch Plains Library
REWIRE FOR REHIRE presented by the Scotch Plains Library’s Career networking Group on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7:00pm.
Whether you are considering a career change or looking for new
opportunities using your current expertise, you must keep learning to be marketable. Two local experts with decades of experience in job training and education will discuss local programs and offer their perspectives on how best to rewire for rehire.
Patricia Dobson, Workforce Manager at the Department of Labor One-Step Center in Plainfield will detail the training grant program and how job-seekers can qualify for a tuition waiver.
Marilyn Perez, from the Union County Department of Education, will explain the Alternate Route Program that trains and mentors professionals who want to become teachers. Ms. Perez is the examiner of educational credentials for the Union County superintendent's office. She will also explain how to obtain the certificates needed to become a substitute teacher.
