Fanwood PD Investigate 10 Car Burglaries in 7 Days

10 unlocked cars were burglarized in a seven days in Fanwood. Fanwood Police are still investigating these crimes.

A Midway Avenue resident reported that between the hours of 6 p.m. on April 7 and 8 p.m. on April 8, unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle. Numerous CDs and loose change, valued at $25 were taken from the vehicle.

A Herbert Avenue resident reported that between the hours of 8 p.m. on April 11 and 7 a.m. on April 12, unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle. A GPS unit, a lap top computer, and a DVD player with a collective value of $2,500 were taken from the vehicle.

A Herbert Avenue resident reported that between the hours of 12 a.m. on April 11 and 12 a.m. on April 12, unknown suspects entered his unlocked vehicle. A GPS unit and a Sirius Satellite Radio with a collective value of $270 were taken from the vehicle.

A Helen Street resident reported that between the hours of 8 p.m. on April 11 and 7 a.m. on April 12, unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle. A GPS unit valued at $400 was taken from the vehicle.

A Helen Street resident reported that between the hours of 9:30 p.m. on April 11 and 10 a.m. on April 12, unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle. A GPS and loose change valued at $210 were taken from the vehicle.

A Helen Street resident reported that between the hours of 8 p.m. on April 11 and 8 a.m. on April 12, unknown suspects entered his vehicle. A GPS valued at $200 was taken. 

A Cray Terrace resident reported that between the hours of 7 p.m. on April 11 and 7 p.m. on April 12, unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle. Three dollars in loose change was taken from the vehicle.

A Staagard Place resident reported that between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on April 13 and 10:15 a.m. on April 14, unknown suspects entered his unlocked vehicle. A GPS unit and a Nintendo DS game system with a collective value of $399 were taken from the vehicle.

A Farley Avenue resident reported that between the hours of 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. on April 15, unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle. A GPS unit valued at $100 was taken from the vehicle.

A Watson Road resident reported that between the hours of 12 a.m. and 1 p.m. on April 15, unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle. A DVD player valued at $100 was taken from the vehicle.

Theft

On April 9, a theft occurred between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. on LaGrande Avenue. The victim stated her basketball net valued at $10 was taken off her basketball hoop.

Arrests

Tiffany Freeman, 26, of Millville, was arrested at 2:48 p.m. on April 9, for an active warrant out of Orange. The Officer stopped Freeman for a motor vehicle violation at Terrill Road and Columbia Avenue and discovered the warrant. Freeman was arrested, processed and released by the Orange Municipal Court.  

Alejandro Moncayo, 37, of Linden, was arrested at 12:18 p.m. on April 10, for active warrants out of Fanwood and Scotch Plains. The Officer stopped Moncayo for a motor vehicle violation at Terrill Road and East Second Street and discovered the warrants. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.
