Interested in Running For the School Board? Information is Now Available

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District has information available for those interested in a seat on the Board of Education.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District has announced it has information available for citizens interested in running for a vacant seat on the board of education.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education will have two full three-year terms open for Scotch Plains and one full three-year term open for Fanwood in the November annual school election, Deborah Sardaki, spokesperson for the school board, announced.

Candidates must file a nominating petition with the Office of the Union County Clerk located at 2 Broad St., Room 113 in Elizabeth to get their name on the ballot for the annual school election. The current deadline to submit the nominating petition is 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Please be advised that any person requesting information on becoming a school board candidate may go to the County Clerk’s website at www.ucnj.org/ctyclerk. Click on the Elections menu then click on School Board Election Information to obtain Qualifications and Instructions for Petition filing.
