Letter to the Editor: Scholarship Foundation Thanks Community

The Scotch Plains Fanwood Scholarship Foundation expresses its thanks to the community and local media outlets for their support of our recent Dollars for Students Campaign.

To the Editor:

The Scotch Plains Fanwood Scholarship Foundation is most grateful for the community support of our Dollars for Students fundraising campaign which recently featured a house to house canvass of our communities by high school applicants for scholarship assistance.  We thank everyone who answered their doorbell and spoke with our applicants.

We also thank the students who gave up their time to help us reach our goals on a raw and rainy weekend.  Finally, we thank all those members of the Foundation who worked so long and hard to make the Dollars for Students campaign a success.

People who may have missed their student volunteer and who still want to assist the Foundation should return the envelope left at their door or send their contribution to the Scotch Plains Fanwood Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 123, Fanwood, NJ 07023.

The first phase of our Dollars for Students campaign included a letter addressed to our supporters asking for their continued financial assistance.  We greatly appreciate all those who answered this letter.

Each donation, great or small, will go toward scholarships for local students.  This year we have received 142 applications and look forward to funding as many scholarships as possible.  This community’s generosity in supporting our students’ goal of higher education has the potential to change lives!

Sincerely,

Mary Ball Cappio, President
