Marching Band Festival Takes the Field at SPFHS Saturday

More than a dozen area high school bands will be performing classic and contemporary music in full costume, and competing for the highest score within their group.

Football season means color guard, cheering and, of course, marching bands. Do you miss the excitement of listening to bands playing to a drum cadence, watching intricate dance moves highlighted by a rainbow of choreographed flags, all while eating a hotdog?

Come for a unique evening at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School football stadium on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and be part of the 15th Annual Marching Band Festival "Under the Lights."

More than a dozen area high school bands will be performing classic and contemporary music in full costume, and competing for the highest score within their group. The day will culminate with a trophy ceremony.

The concession stand will be open all evening selling hotdogs, drinks and ice cream. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
