Patch Kid of the Week: Emily Nagourney

The SPFHS senior excels in the classroom and on the soccer pitch.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Patch is delighted to name high school senior Emily Nagourney its Patch Kid of the Week:

  • Whiz Kid's Name: Emily Nagourney
  • Town: Scotch Plains
  • Age: 18
  • Whiz Kid's Accomplishments: One of two seniors selected to represent the school at the 34th annual Union County Scholar Athlete Awards dinner on May 11, and the only student to represent the school at the New Jersey State Dinner on May 15, according to Nagourney's father, Jeffrey. 
  • Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Nagourney maintained a 4.42 GPA while taking five Advanced Placement classes, and competing as a varsity soccer and track-and-field athlete. Her soccer citations include: First Team All Union County; Top Twenty NJ State Soccer; and NSCAA Region II All American (Top-50 player in Region II-Pa, N.Y., N.J., and Del.). Writes Jeffrey, "While I am very proud of her athletic accomplishments, I am most proud of her academic accomplishments."
