From April 26-29, Union Catholic High School celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The weekend was packed with a variety of events, all with the goal of reconnecting alumni, former faculty, former parents, current faculty and students, and UC friends. Events included a Wine and Cheese Reception on Friday night, Family Field and Fun Day on Saturday afternoon, the 50th Anniversary Gala on Saturday evening, the 50th Anniversary Mass and Brunch on Sunday, and the Golf Classic on Monday. The weekend was a smash hit!

The homily that Father James Massa ’78 gave at the 50th Anniversary Mass on Sunday really encompassed the 50th Anniversary mission. After referencing The Wizard of Oz and Dorothy’s saying, “If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own backyard,” Father Massa poignantly noted that, “we’ve all come home and the backyard is in full bloom.” The 50th Anniversary’s intention has been to connect and intertwine past and present, reviving memories of the past and creating new memories for the future, ensuring that Union Catholic is alive and well in the hearts of all its community’s members. Cheers to the next 50!
