Snow Delays School Openings

Ninety minute delays were issued.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District delayed school openings Wednesday morning after about two inches of snow fell on the area overnight.

Students at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School should report to school at 9:28 a.m; students in grades 5-8 at 9:30 a.m.; and grades 1-4 at 9:55 a.m. 

Morning pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs begin at 9:55 a.m. Afternoon kindergarten starts at 12:55 p.m., and afternoon pre-k at 1:15 p.m.

Students have been told to report to their bus stops 90 minutes after their normal pickup time.

Light snow is expected to end this morning, but it will likely be back our way this Friday and Saturday. The National Weather service predicts that a coastal storm will reach the area starting Friday night, bringing the potential for heavy snowfall. The impact will depend on the track of the storm.
