Scotch Plains-Fanwood names its top athletic performers from the past week.
Name: Travis Cortes
Sport: Boys Soccer
Position: Forward
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Cortes scored the game-winning goals against Cranford on Sept. 20, Westfield on Sept. 15, and Linden on Sept. 13, as well as the tying goal in a 2-1 victory over Union on Sept. 10. He has four goals in five games this season.
Name: Tom Breznitsky
Sport: Boys Soccer
Position: Head Coach
Experience: 37th year
Accomplishments: Breznitsky with a 6-0 victory against Cranford on Sept. 20 to raise his team’s record to 4-1 this season and his career record to 600-148-52. Only three other coaches in state history have reached the 600-win milestone.
