After screening 144 applications, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarship Foundation distributed $141,650 in scholarship aid to 95 students in the 2010-2011 academic year. Scholarship recipients, who all reside in Scotch Plains or Fanwood, were awarded aid based on “academic achievement, financial need, community service and leadership,” according to a press release distributed by the Foundation.
Of the 95 award winners, 81 are current high school seniors, while 14 are presently college students. Members of the Foundation, the PTAs from each school in the SPF school district and the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League select scholarship recipients. All of the student winners listed below are members of the class of 2011 unless otherwise noted.
