This Week Ahead: Week of Monday, April 23
Fanwood 5K, free trees on Arbor Day, and Take Your Son/Daughter to Work Day are amount the happenings around town this week.
In honor of National Crime Victim’s Rights Week, all are invited to join the Union County Prosecutor’s Office’s Office of Victim/Witness Advocacy in recognizing and bringing honor to Victims of Crime by wearing the color blue (or a blue ribbon) on Tuesday, April 24.
Celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 27 with a presentation from Park Middle School’s Environmental Club at 4 p.m. at the Carriage House Park in Fanwood. This event is hosted by the The Fanwood Shade Tree Commission and will include a free tree for all who attend.
In schools this week: Thursday, April 26 is take your daughter/son to work day! Don’t forget to upload your photos of your child’s trip to work to Patch by clicking the “Pics and Clips” tab on the homepage.
On Saturday, April 28 beginning at 8:30 a.m., The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA together with the Scotch Plains-Fanwood PTA Council will join forces to host a . This event will start and end at the Y located at 1340 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains. Proceeds from this event will benefit the United for a Cause Scholarship Fund for students planning to pursue a degree in a health related field. On Saturday, April 28th, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is celebrating with a free community event for kids and families. The event is open to the public and will take place at their 1340 Martine Avenue, Scotch Plains location from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.The FSPY will offer an open swim, obstacle courses, sports samplers, face painting, carnival games, family games, relay races, arts and crafts, Camp Open House, healthy treats and more.
