This Week Ahead: Week of Monday, March 19

"Anything Goes," poetry readings, and financial seminars for all ages are among the events happening around town this week.

On Tuesday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m., Two River Community Bank in Fanwood will host local industry professionals and members of the community who want to in this economy. Patricia Weinstock, a real estate sales agent with NJ Realty Services, and Chuck Lero, a Mortgage Loan Specialist with Two River Bank will lead the seminar. The will continue in Fanwood on Tuesday, March 20 at 8 p.m. This installment will feature  the award-winning poet George Drew, followed by an open mic reading that is open to the public. The event is free.

The Scotch Plains Library will host a spring fling afternoon family dance party for preschoolers and parents on Wednesday, March 21 at 3 p.m. Family friendly fun events continue at the library with an afternoon of crafts on Friday, March 23 at 4 p.m.

Jeffrey Romond, co-founder and managing partner for St. George Financial Partners, will conduct a presentation on how to teach your kids about money at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 at the Scotch Plains Library. Each parent will receive a piggy bank with separate slots for save, spend, donate and invest

The cast of this year’s Repertory Theater production of will perform Cole Porter’s classic musical comedy on Thursday, March 22 at 7:00pm, Friday, March 23 at 8:00pm and Saturday, March 24 at 8:00pm in the Maya Ungar auditorium at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School. The cast of 56 SPFHS students is directed by SPFHS alum, musically directed and produced by Choral Director,, and choreographed by Gisa Dilrio.
