Get ready to go back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, and collars were up as Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School’s Repertory Theatre stages The Wedding Singer in March.

It's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer, until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

The Wedding Singer is based on the hit movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, with music by Westfield native Matthew Sklar. Director Matthew Capodicasa is back for the third year-in-a row, following last year’s production of Anything Goes and 2011’s Hairspray.

Matt graduated SPFHS in 2005, having starred in Rep Theatre productions for all four years of his high school career.  He graduated NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in ’09 with a BFA in Drama.

Jan Allen, Choral Director at the high school is back as Producer/Music Director. Joanne Sprague, Rep Theatre’s Costume Designer for the past several years returns, as does veteran Choreographer Gisa DiIorio.  Durand Thomas is once again the Pit Band Director.
