Sister Percylee Hart, Principal of Union Catholic from 1980 to present day, has declared July 1, 2012 the official opening of Union Catholic’s 50th Anniversary year.
Union Catholic opened in September 1962 as two distinct schools, Union Catholic Boys High School and Union Catholic Girls High School, with less than 300 students. Today, the school stands united with close to 800 students and over 10,000 alumni.
The 50th Anniversary countdown began in September of 2009, when Union Catholic welcomed the "Golden Class of 2013". Since the 50th Anniversary takes place during their senior year, the Class of 2013 has been involved in celebrations and preparations since they were freshmen, as UC has been hosting and planning 50th Anniversary events in the hopes of bringing alums back into the school.

Sister Percylee emphasizes, “Let us rejoice and celebrate together our school’s 50th Jubilee! I am so excited to be a part of this truly historic time, and I look forward to commemorating this milestone with the entire UC Community of students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, alumni parents and friends.”
In addition to a variety of 50th Anniversary events, Union Catholic is also going to be holding online contests via the school website, which will begin August 1. Everyone is encouraged to begin collecting UC trivia, photos, videos, and stories, as well as to regularly check UC’s Official 50th Anniversary website for more details about events and activities in which to participate!
