In August, Governor Christie signed into law legislation recognizing Dyslexia as a reading disability under the code. This means that Dyslexia will now be able to be addressed on a student's IEP. He also signed into law the requirement that staff receive a minimum of 2 hours of training in Dyslexia or other reading disabilities. Additional legislation is pending. See the NJDOE (NJ Dept. of Ed) or the Governor's News Service (GENS) for additional information. Thank you to one of our SEPAG members for bringing this news to light!
