YMCA Hosts Triwomen - Fanwood/Scotch Plains YMCA

Have you ever thought about trying a Triathlon?  Come join Triwomen, a group of local women who are preparing to participate in the Danskin Women's Sprint Triathlon in September.  The group is beginning its 6th year and has helped over 600 women successfully complete a sprint triathlon.  Participation in the Triwomen Group is free and open to all women in our area.  Members of the group range in age from 14 to 70+.  The group is lead by volunteer leaders who have experience competing in triathlons and are passionate about helping others achieve this goal in a friendly, non-competitive environment.  Triwomen will provide inspiration, education, and opportunities for women of all ages, shapes and sizes who are interested in taking on the challenge of completing a sprint triathlon in 2012.

For those who are interested, the Triwomen Group is hosting two Triwomen Kickoff informational meetings this month.  The first meeting is on January 19, 2012 at 7:30 pm at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA, 1340 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains and an additional meeting will be held at the JCC of Central New Jersey, 1391 Martine Ave in Scotch Plains, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.  You do not need to be a member of either facility to attend the meetings but a photo ID is required at the door at the JCC.

Please email Sheri Cognetti at scognetti@fanwoodscotchplainsymca.org or Amy Carow at ASCarow@verizon.net with questions or for more information regarding the Triwomen Group.
