The Fanwood Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) boys Black Swim Team had some outstanding performances but came up short against the Lakeland Hill YMCA boys swim team at their recent dual meet.

For the 8&Under boys, Brandon Cortez touched first in the 25 Freestyle and 25 Backstroke, while Owen Higinbotham was first in the 25 Butterfly. Connor Jablonski was second in the 8&Under 50 Free, while Richard Panikiewsky, Kevin Foley and James Sullivan each posted season-best times.

The 9-10 boys had top finishes by Matthew Chen (1st 50 Free) and Jeremy Kronheimer (3rd 100 IM). For the 11-12 year-olds, Zach Kronheimer was first in the 50 Breaststroke and 50 Butterfly while Kyle Foster touched second in the 200 IM and third in the 50 Back. Logan D’Amore took third in the 100 Free, and joined Kronheimer, Foster and Alan Shao to take first in the 200 Medley Relay.

The 13-14 boys saw Nolan Kearns take first in the 200IM and 100 Breast, while Eric Chang was first in the 200 Free and 100 Back. The relay team of Chang, Kearns, Jon Baron and Nick Heath had a hard fought 200 Medley Relay but were just out-touched for first place.

FSPY 15-18 boys were very strong as Ryan Gajdzisz touched first in both the 200IM and 200 Free. Tyler Lessner was first in the 100 Breast, Alex Skoog was second in the 100 back, and Dan Drozdzewicz and Nick Venditto took first and second, respectively, in the 200 Butterfly.
