Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Men's Basketball Face Week Two

The following information is provided by the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA.

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Men's Basketball League’s season continued with week two match-ups, giving teams the chance to solidify their starting rosters as players become more familiar with each other.

In the first game, Fast Break, 60 and HoopTown, 42.  Fast Break started slow, but finished the first half with a lead that would be too big for HoopTown to recover.  HoopTown's Brian Parker led all scoring with 28 points. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to offset the balanced shooting attack of Fast Break who had multiple players finish with double-digit points including Jason Holley with 22 and Tim Gray with 14.

Game two ended with Got Skillz, 49 and Court Masters, 39.  The second game, was an up and down affair that ultimately was decided in the final 10 minutes of the game.  Although down by seven at the half, Got Skillz clawed their way back being led by Jason Shann's 19 points to forge ahead in the second half.  A shining spot for Court Masters was Jason Pompeo's 24 points.

Game three closed with Double Dribble, 42 and Above The Rim,        38.  What looked like a blowout, ended up being a close contest down to the final minute of play. Above the Rim was ahead 24-7 at halftime, but Marlon Brown's 16 points led a second half charge to get Double Dribble within three points.  In the end, foul shots and 21 points from Jam Berry allowed Above the Above to hold off the failed comeback.
