Jammers, X-Men Dominate in YMCA 30+ Men League Opening Games

The league was formed recently to give the men who run a lot of the local youth leagues a chance to compete a little themselves.

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA opened play in its 30+ men's basketball league Sunday with a pair of games.

Game No. 1 pit the Jammers against the Razorbacks, with an ultimate score of 64-38.

The Jammers took an 8-point first half lead then ran the Razorbacks out of the gym with 34 points in the second half. Jammer Steve "Shooter" Filler poured in 12 of his 19 points in the second half. Marlon "or is it Marion" Brown came off the bench scoring 14 points, grabbing ten rebounds. Steve Colao (12 points) and Eric Halpin (11 points, 9 boards) added to the Jammers scoring. Kevin St.Onge (4 points, 4 rebounds) led the Jammers with 7 assists, earning style points on a pretty feed to Brown and Jammer big men all morning long.
