Brief: Girl Scouts Earn Gold Awards

Freeholder Al Mirabella presents the honors to members of a Fanwood-Scotch Plains troop.

Five Scotch Plains-Fanwood Girl Scouts earned Gold Awards, the highest honor that can be earned in the organization. Union County Freeholder and Fanwood resident Al Mirabella presented certificates to the scouts in recognition of their accomplishment during a ceremony Wednesday in Fanwood. The scouts, Christina Reiman, Theresa Chrystal, Jillian Leahy, Ellen Tomljanovic and Anna Leistikow, were joined by Fanwood-Scotch Plains Girl Scouts Co-Service Unit Manager Julie Murphy.
