Brief: Scouts Lauded for Flower Power

The Scotch Plains Mayor and Council recognizes the members and leaders of Brownie Troop 341.

The Girl Scouts of Fanwood-Scotch Plains' Brownie Troop 341 brought a welcome dose of color to downtown Scotch Plains, planting flowers in the planter-boxes that line storefronts along Park Avenue and East Second Street. In so doing, they earned both a Beautification Badge from the Girl Scouts of America and an honorary resolution from Mayor Nancy Malool and the Township Council, the latter of which was presented to the scouts and their leaders during the mayor and council's monthly business meeting Wednesday. 

The scouts, third-graders at , are Taylor Arrogante, Jacqueline Ayers, Delaney Baliko, Allie Fitzgerald, Sage Guensch, Kayla Jones, Shevenie Jordan, Brooke Klurman, Mayah Nissim, Grace Schiller, Olivia Shih, Julia Solsky, Rachel Schoss, Sophie Wilkins and Tara Wolman. They are led by Lori Fitzgerald, Michelle Guensch, Lisa Schiller and Jessie Wilkins.

Lisa Mohn, president of the Scotch Plains Business and Professional Association and owner of on Park Avenue, donated the flowers.
