Friends of the Scotch Plains Library Start Membership Drive

Membership costs are $15 for an individual, $25 for a family, $10 for seniors and students, and $50 for an organization, and are tax-deductible.

The Friends of the Scotch Plains Public Library has started its annual membership drive, coinciding with the upcoming National Friends of Libraries Week Oct. 20-26. 

A Friends membership provides numerous benefits, including a voice in funding library needs, five free DVD rentals per year, a 10 percent discount to the Town Book Store in Westfield and access to the member preview night at the Friends' annual book sale each spring. 

In addition to these benefits, all members joining or renewing before Nov. 18 will be eligible for a drawing for a free Kindle Fire.

During National Friends of the Libraries week, new members joining at the family level or above will additionally receive a free 2014 Book Lover's calendar. Other new or returning members can purchase the calendar at a discounted price of $5.
