Girl Scout Teaches Art Therapy

The project helped Charlotte Peach earn her Gold Award.

Charlotte Peach, a senior at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School and a Fanwood resident, is also a senior Girl Scout in Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey Troop 256. For her Gold Award project this summer, she taught a seven week Art Therapy class for seniors at the Chelsea at Fanwood senior living facility.

Art Therapy is defined as "a mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages”, according to The American Art Therapy Association

Charlotte hopes to practice Art Therapy in the future.
