Dog-art exhibit at Scotch Plains Library:
In honor of Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month, the library will host an art gallery reception on Thursday at 7 p.m. This reception will feature the dog-related exhibits of local artists Vicki Parker and Leeza Hernandez. The library will also be leaving one wall open for community members to display photographs, art work and writings about your favorite canines.

Also, on Saturday: At 11 a.m., award  winning author/illustrator Leeza Hernandez will return to ScotLib to read and  sign copies of her children’s book, Dog Gone! Following her session with children, Hernandez will again volunteer her time from 1-3 p.m. to make needlecraft felt dogs with adults.  Reservations are required.

Fanwood Library jumble: Visit the library for a jumble of weekly activities to strengthen your  pre-schooler's early literacy skills each Thursday. Sign-up takes place on a weekly basis, one week prior to each session. You may choose one or more sessions. For 3-5 year olds. This week's theme is pumpkins.
