Rotary Club Sells Luminaries, Town Councils Meet, Party in the Pit

What's happening this week in Scotch Plains and Fanwood.

Rotary Club luminaries on sale: On Dec. 21, 22, 9am-3pm, and Dec. 24, 9am-12noon. Luminary kits (candle, bag, and sand) will be sold at the Fanwood Municipal Garage, 270 North Avenue. Each kit costs 60 cents (50 cents when purchasing more than 50 kits). All proceeds will be donated to charities supported by the Rotary. Please bring canned food to donate.

Scotch Plains Council meets: At 7:30 p.m. in council chambers. See the meeting agenda here. The meeting will include 2014 Board and Commission appointments. Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.

Fanwood Council meets: The regular monthly meeting of the Fanwood Borough Council and Mayor takes place Tuesday at Fanwood Borough Hall, Council Chambers, 75 N. Martine Avenue. As always, the meeting is open to the public. It is also carried live on Comcast channel 35. Join the council as they say thanks to Councilman Tony Parenti for his service to the town as his term on council comes to an end. Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.

Come Watch "A Child's Christmas in Wales" plus live Celtic music: 
Triskelion is proud to present the beloved “A  Child’s Christmas in Wales,” by Dylan Thomas at All Saint's Episcopal Church in Scotch Plains. There will be an accompanying program of live Celtic music to be performed by Fanwood resident Tommy Lepano and Friends. Come celebrate the season and enjoy free Wassail and refreshments. Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m.

Be Craftful's Party in the Pit: Kids 5+ party in the pit. Drop your kids off for 2 1/2 hours of crafting, games and pizza. Perfect timing for parents to get ready for the holidays. $30 / per child ... advance registration required. Friday.

Holiday party at Oh' Brian's Pourhouse: Celebrate the season with special seasonal drinks, menu specials and appetizers. Saturday.
