Free 'Little Rockers' Music Class, Texas Hold Em Tournament for SPF UNICO This Week

The Lightning Thief Viewing Party at the Scotch Plains Library: The library will be hosting a film viewing for teens in grades 6 & up. We’ll snack on blue foods & vote on which is better—the book or the movie! This program is free and open to all interested participants in grades 6-12. Fanwood Business and Professional Association "Meet & Greet": The Fanwood Business and Professional Association (FBPA) is sponsoring a "Meet & Greet" at Oh' Brian's Pourhouse in Fanwood on Monday from 6-8pm. The purpose of this event is to give business professionals a networking opportunity. This is open to all local business owners.  In addition, if you would like information on joining the FBPA, information will be available. Oh' Brian's will be providing complementary hors' d' oeuvres and there will also be a cash bar. Monday, 6 - 8 p.m.

Free "Little Rockers" music class: Little Rockers, cool kids music classes, is offering a free demo class at Dancer's Pointe in Scotch Plains. Join us for this high energy class and get ready to shake your eggs to Bob Marley or tap a drum to "Yellow Submarine" because we don't think a kids music class should just be for the kids! Play Hold Em' for a cause: The Scotch Plains-Fanwood chapter of UNICO will be hosting a Texas Holdem Tournament. Proceeds go towards supporting the chapters charitable efforts which include local scholarships. Information and sign-up forms can be found by visiting the events page of our website. Friday, 6:30 p.m.

Watch The Descendants at the Scotch Plains Library: On Fridays in January at 1:00pm, the Scotch Plains Public Library will show a series of films set in warm locales. Bring a snack and enjoy the show! In The Descendants (R, 115 min) Matt King is an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a 
boating accident off of Waikiki. The event leads to a rapprochement with 
his young daughters while Matt wrestles with a decision to sell the 
family's land handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries. Based on the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings. Starring George Clooney, Shailene Woodley, and Amara Miller. Friday, 1 p.m.
