The 2% cap is the biggest joke! It exempts retirement money and health care costs - the two largest…Read More expenses a municipality has. Every town can claim expenses of both. They just have to ask for an approval and they can go over the cap. It was nothing more than a marketing campaign.

Sadly, for most shore towns, as those home/property owners who are unable to re-build and abandon…Read More properties or simply default on their real estate taxes, that short fall will have to be made up by a re-casting of the tax rate on those who have viable properties. So the Christie 2% real estate tax cap is "out the window" and you folks are screwed. I didn't hear anything about in Christie"s "I'm bigger than the storm" TV ads that New Jersey Taxpayers are paying for! Happy about that?

Great comment! And thank you for the heads up, I will check out the site and watch the program. It…Read More still comes back to when modern medicine fails, lets look at history. Cannabis has been used for more than 3000 years and today it's potential is yet untapped. Our focus here is to get relief for a child that her expert Neurologist said this could help after drug after drug that has not. Christie is stone walling the whole MMP because of his own agenda. THAT does NOT belong here now. IMHO.

Lori your approach sounds like faith healing.
Suffering while waiting is NOT treatment.

Hey Jerzymom, are we allowed to call a fellow poster "idiot"? And it's you who is the…Read More "idiot": "Your" should read "you're". So there smarty pants.

While on his second tour of duty as an Apache helicopter pilot in Afghanistan, Prince Harry met an…Read More American soldier whose family home had been destroyed by Sandy. When the trip to the US was scheduled, the Prince specifically asked to have a visit to NJ on his schedule. He and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (his brother and sister-in-law) have a charitable foundation which does work not only in GB but around the world including here in the US -- as part of that effort, Prince Harry visited NJ and other place where his presence will raise funds that help people in need. Additionally, because the Prince visited -- photos of his visit went around the world -- much needed publicity for the NJ shore -- to show that 1. recovery is still ongoing and 2. that the shore towns are working to be ready for the summer season and the hoped for tourists who account for many people's financial wellbeing. It's disappointing to see the smallminded negative crap that some people just have to spew in regard to anything or anyone. I personally am not a fan of Gov. Christie but have to give him credit for taking every opportunity to help the shore towns get back on their feet and part of that includes escorting a Prince who considerate enough to visit an area hard hit by a huge storm.

I respect the Prince for his military service and his work with charities. However, he tours the…Read More shore area which probably cost the Shore Towns/State tens of thousands in OT for police etc. Goes to CT the next day and makes millions from US companies for his international charities at a Polo match. Then heads back to the UK the same day. Where is there an upside for his shore visit? I would have thought he would feel compelled to donate a portion of that money for the Sandy Victims. That polo match wasn't the only thing he was playing while he was here.

"Just 3 seconds looking at your phone equals driving the length of three football fields…Read More blindfolded," he told the audience. "I don't know why anyone would be willing to take that risk."
Let's see: that's 100 yards per second, 6000 yards per minute or 204 miles per hour.
I agree that you ought to keep your eyes on the road, but slowing down a bit might also reduce the risks.
