The chief financial officer is responsible for the receipt, safeguarding, investment and disbursement of all municipal funds, which includes tax collection, accounts payable and payroll. The CFO also oversees the operations of the tax collector’s office and the tax assessor’s office.
In addition, the CFO is responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statement, the annual debt statement, supplemental debt statements and all other required reporting to the Division of Local Government Services. The CFO also assists the municipal manager with the preparation of the annual budget and the capital budget.
