Evergreen Elementary School offers students from kindergarten through fourth grade a comprehensive education in…More reading and language arts literacy, math, science, social studies and special subject areas.
Students in second through fourth grades are taught Spanish by using simple vocabulary, visuals, gestures, music, movement and technology to make the language understandable. The curriculum also emphasizes Spanish culture and traditions.
Students utilize computers and the internet in all areas, and fourth graders learn and practice keyboarding skills using AlphaSmarts, desktop and/or laptop computers. Experiences for academically talented third and fourth grade children are offered through the QUEST (Question, Understand, Explore, Seek, Think) Program. Character education is integrated within the curriculum through literature, social studies, health/physical education and special events. In addition, the Resolve Community Agency provides developmental guidance lessons for students in first through fourth grades.
The school also boasts a very active PTA that sponsors several service projects throughout the year. The principal is Colleen Haubert.
