Coles Elementary School, students in grades K - 4 are offered a comprehensive education in math, science,…More language arts, social studies, arts, foreign language, technology and other special subjects. Teachers introduced several new techniques this year, including a no-hand raising policy, so that they could call on many students, not just those with their hands up. Teachers also use a traffic light as a way for students to show that they understand (green), understand some parts, but need some help (yellow), or don’t understand yet (red light).
In addition to education, the school and its PTA offer students and their families activities such as Family Bingo Night, the Spring Book Fair, Field Day and more. The principal is Deborah Evans.
