The following information was provided by the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Newcomers Club. The Scotch Plains Fanwood Newcomers Club sponsored a Blood Drive on February 2nd. It was a success and the Club would like to thank their members and the community who came into to donate and give the gift of life! The SPF Newcomers' Club, a non-profit social organization, offers daytime and evening activities for women, men and children. Also bring your children while you donate, Newcomer Club Member Volunteers will help watch and entertain with coloring pages. On Jan. 13., Temple Sholom will sponsor a blood drive at UCHS, donors will receive a $10 Dunkin' Donuts gift card.
On Jan. 13, residents of Scotch Plains and Fanwood can donate blood at the campus of Union Catholic High School. The blood drive is being sponsored by Temple Sholom of Fanwood and Scotch Plains and the temple is offering 10 dollar gift cards to Dunkin' Donuts for all donors. In a release for the blood drive the temple noted the gift card as a, "thank you for the mitzvah of helping to save a life." The drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Remember, in order to donate blood you must be at least 17 years of age and weigh over 110 pounds. New Jersey Blood Services is urging community members to donate blood if they are able.
An emergency blood drive will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today at the Clark Rescue Squad on Raritan Road in Clark. New Jersey Blood Services is urging community members to donate blood if they are able. Blood drives throughout the New Jersey-New York region were cancelled and continue to be cancelled, resulting in a loss to-date of close to 6,000 pints of blood.
