Fanwood Blotter: Warrant Arrests

The following information was provided by the Fanwood Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

October 15, 2012: At 10:25 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at North Ave. and Seneca Rd. for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Dunellen. The driver was arrested, processed and released by Dunellen Municipal Court. The defendant is a Larry Bass, a 52-year-old male from Piscataway.  October 17, 2012: At 11:06 a.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop atMartine Ave. and Midway Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Newark. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. The defendant is a Kenneth Brown, a 33-year old-male from Linden. October 15, 2012: A resident of Park Ave. reported being a victim of a Theft.  She stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attempted to enter her vehicle. Entrance was attempted by damaging the lock on the door.   October 16, 2012: The manager of a Route 22 gas station reported being a victim of Fraud.  He stated that a unknown suspect purchased gas and paid with a counterfeit $100 bill.   October 16, 2012:   A resident of Donsen Lane reported being victim of Fraud.  He stated that unknown suspect(s) opened up a credit card in his name without his authorization. October 10, 2012: At 3:09 p.m. an officer made a motor vehicle stop at Midway Ave. & Cecilia Pl. for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Union County Sheriff's Office. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to the Union County Sheriff''s Office. D.W.I. Arrests September 23, 2012: At 1:02 a.m. an officer was following a vehicle east on South Avenue when he observed the vehicle weaving. The Officer made a motor vehicle stop and while speaking with the driver he could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle for field sobriety test which he was unable to perform. The driver was placed under arrest, processed, charged with D.W.I. ans released to a responsible person.   Theft September 17, 2012:  A resident of Raritan Road reported being a victim of a Theft.  He stated that he had friends over and when they left he noticed several hundred dollars was missing from a dresser drawer. Theft Between July 26, 2012 & August 19, 2012: The victim reported his locked bicycle was stolen from theNorthside Train Station. The value stolen is $500.00 and the description of the bicycle is a Decathlon Sport color Blue. Between August 10, 2012 & August 13, 2012: A resident in the 10 block of LaGrande Ave. reported that she had several boxes on her front porch stolen. The value is $21,000.00.  Between August 11, 2012 & August 19, 2012: A resident in the 80 block of Montrose Ave. reported an unknown person stole several solar lights from the front of his house. He stated that he received a call from his bank that unknown suspect(s) removed several hundred dollars from his checking account without his authorization.   August 27, 2012:  A resident of Montague Ave. reported being a victim of a Theft.  She stated that she lent her vehicle to a friend and the friend failed to bring it back.  The vehicle is valued at approximately $5,000. August 27, 2012:  A resident of Raritan Rd.  reported being a victim of an Attempted Burglary.  He stated that sometime over the last several days’ unknown suspect(s) tried to enter the house through a rear door.  August 27, 2012:  An owner of a store on South Ave. reported being victim of a Burglary.  He stated that sometime during the night unknown suspect(s) entered the store.  Once inside the unknown suspect(s) removed an undetermined amount of cash.  Entrance was gained by removing one of the windows. SP Police Investigate Two Park Avenue Burglaries

Two Park Avenue businesses were burglarized on March 10. Recent criminal activity in Scotch Plains also includes reports of fraud, theft, and criminal mischief.

Burglary On March 10, a Park Avenue business was burglarized. The business owner stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered her business. Once inside the suspect(s) removed several hundred dollars in cash. Entrance was gained by smashing the front glass door.   On March, 10, a second Park Avenue business was burglarized.
