Lance To Host Mobile Office Hours In Cranford

Congressman Leonard Lance will be at the Cranford Community center Friday afternoon.

Congressman Leonard Lance and his staff will hold a mobile office in Cranford on Nov. 2 to assist Union County residents and small businesses with Hurricane Sandy disaster assistance.   The legislator will host office hours from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Ave., which is also serving as a regional shelter for those displaced by Hurricane Sandy. The day before Hurricane Sandy slammed into the region, Lance met with officials in cranford and Springfield and vowed to make relief efforts a priority following the storm. At Lance’s request, officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be on-hand to answer questions and help register individuals who need recovery assistance from those affected by…

Congressman Leonard Lance Visits Union County Vo-Tech

Students from UC Tech addressed Congressman Lance with questions and presentations.

Students of Union County Vocational-Technical Schools(UC Tech) greeted Congressman Leonard Lance of New Jersey's 7th district, with questions from a government class, a prepared presentation from a health sciences class and a short ballet routine on Friday morning. "What a town hall meeting, huh?" Lance said when leaving the room of an AP Government Class from the Magnet High School, who directed many well formulated questions to the Congressman. Some of the questions included Lance's view on Obamacare, which he noted he does not like to call Obamacare, but rather the Healthcare Reform. Congressman Lance's Office Collecting Food and Book Donations

Donations can be dropped off at Lance’s Westfield and Flemington offices until Oct. 24

Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) announced today that his congressional district offices in Westfield and Flemington will serve as drop off locations for food and book donations for needy children throughout the month of October.  The drive is part of an effort spearheaded by the United Way of Northern New Jersey and the Courier News – who are collecting items for the United Way’s Weekend Backpack program. The Weekend Backpack program provides “children whose families are struggling financially with nutritious and easily accessible food over the weekend, as well as new age-appropriate books to promote reading and improving literacy.” The following food and snack items are needed: beef stew (small cans), Vienna sausages (small cans), tuna…

Congressman Lance Criticized Tax System During Press Conference In Cranford

The lawmaker visited the Cranford Post Office hours before the April 17 income tax filing deadline to promote tax reform.

Calling our tax system "too complex," Congressman Leonard Lance, R-7, and local officials visited the Cranford Post Office the day before Tax Day to oppose new taxes proposed by President Barack Obama and to urge tax reform. Standing on Miln Street in downtown Cranford on an unseasonably warm day, Lance greeted residents as they entered the post office, many of them carrying envelopes addressed to the IRS. With fewer than 24 hours to go before the official April 17 filing deadline for tax returns, the congressman critized Obama's proposed budget, which calls for "new taxes on earnings, dividends and savings for many New Jersey family households and small businesses.
