BOE: Evergreen Class Sizes to Increase Slightly

Class sizes in Evergreen Elementary School's third grade will rise slightly for the 2011-2012 school year, members of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education said at their monthly regular meeting Thursday, June 23, the last meeting of the 2010-2011 school year. Come September, there will be four third-grade sections instead of five, Superintendent Margaret Hayes said, resulting in an increase of two to three students per classroom. The change stemmed from shifting enrollment numbers, Hayes said.
