Over 125 People Attend SP Police Foundation Comedy Night

The Scotch Plains Police Foundation event took place on April 5 at Shackamaxon Country Club.

  On April 5, the Scotch Plains Police Foundation held their annual comedy night fundraiser sponsored by K-9 Resorts in Fanwood featuring comedian Mike Marino. K-9 Resorts owners, Jason and Steven Parker have been working with the police department on the fundraiser for the past four years. In the first year, the event raised over $5,000 which gave the department the ability to buy two bullet proof vests for the dogs in the K-9 Unit. “The event on Friday was a huge success,” Jason told Patch.  The fundraiser took place on April 5 at Shackamaxon Country Club and over 125 people we in attendence.  “I wanted to get involved because I am a dog lover and wanted to help our town with their police k9 unit,” Jason Parker said. “Also, as a Scotch …

Owners of K-9 Resorts In Fanwood Featured on Fox Business News

Residents of Scotch Plains, Jason and Steven Parker who own K-9 Resorts in Fanwood were featured on Fox Business News on Jan. 29.

  Earlier today, Jason and Steven Parker of Scotch Plains were featured on Fox Business News to discuss their business, K-9 Resort Daycare and Luxury Hotel located in Fanwood. The brothers, who Patch previously reported were in the process of franchising out locations, told Fox Business News that they are closing the ninth franchising deal this Friday and the 10th deal next month. Since opening the business in 2005, the brothers knew they wanted to expand the business outside of Fanwood and in 2010 their plans started to come to fruition. Owners of K-9 Resorts In Fanwood to Open Six New Locations Across NJ

Jason and Steven Parker, owners of K-9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel, are expanding the business across New Jersey and one location in Virginia.

The successful Fanwood business, K-9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel, will soon be popping up around New Jersey as owners Jason and Steven Parker began to franchise the company. As long-time Scotch Plains residents the Parker brothers opened K-9 Resorts in Fanwood following a childhood full of begging their parents to let them get a dog. When achieving great report cards and completing all of their chores didn’t turn their parents into dog people, the brothers resorted to starting their own dog walking and pet sitting business. After seeing much success, the brothers realized that what they wanted to do was start their own business and work for themselves. Not sure if I agree with this. I went to the one in Fanwood and it was located right under a power line transformer thingy (scary! Hopefully new locations will be better) and the tour was pretty much of a garage and an alley. There was way too many dogs and not enough workers (about 20+dogs to one worker in the play room), and there wasn't any grass or pools for the dogs to swim in. I am …   more ›
