Jason and Steven Parker, owners of K-9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel, are expanding the business across New Jersey and one location in Virginia.
The successful Fanwood business, K-9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel, will soon be popping up around New Jersey as owners Jason and Steven Parker began to franchise the company. As long-time Scotch Plains residents the Parker brothers opened K-9 Resorts in Fanwood following a childhood full of begging their parents to let them get a dog. When achieving great report cards and completing all of their chores didn’t turn their parents into dog people, the brothers resorted to starting their own dog walking and pet sitting business. After seeing much success, the brothers realized that what they wanted to do was start their own business and work for themselves. In 2005, Jason and Steven opened K-9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel on South Avenue …

All About Ewe, a knitting shop and school on the corner of Madison Hill Road and Westfield Avenue, is the fruit of Marazzo's risk-taking. "I like to say we’re a fun, friendly, funky yarn shop," says Marazzo. Some of Marazzo's most popular products and brands are sock yarn, Malabrigo yarn, Breathless by Shalimar, Dream in Color and Valley Yarn. All About Ewe is…

Every day, Flannery’s co-owner and lifelong Fanwood resident, Brian Walter, gets dozens of calls from local residents asking when The Chippery, a beloved local landmark, will reopen its doors. Now, two years after he first began rebuilding, all that stands in his way of revamping the local eatery are two 16,000 gallon gas tanks. Walter had originally planned on reopening the doors of his favorite childhood restaurant last March. After his team had gutted the inside of the still standing Chippery, they discovered that beneath the earth, were huge gasoline tanks dating back to the 1920s. The tanks had been installed back decades before the Chippery opened up in the 1960s, when the property was used as a truck stop, Walter explained. “We …

Not sure if I agree with this. I went to the one in Fanwood and it was located right under a power line transformer thingy (scary! Hopefully new locations will be better) and the tour was pretty much of a garage and an alley. There was way too many dogs and not enough workers (about 20+dogs to one worker in the play room), and there wasn't any grass or pools for the dogs to swim in. I am …   more ›
