Man was driving on wrong side of road, according to an eyewitness report.
A motor vehicle accident occurred around 1 p.m. Sunday at the corner of North Avenue and Promenade. According to an eyewitness report, the man involved in the accident was driving on the wrong side of North Avenue and crashed into a tree near Promenade. An unconfirmed report stated that the man was entrapped in his vehicle, extricated and transported to UMDNJ. Scotch Plains-Fanwood Patch will continue to provide updates on this accident as more information becomes available.
A 23-year-old female was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson hospital after having been involved in motor vehicle accident at Portland and Martine Avenue.
A 23-year-old Scotch Plains resident was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident that occurred at 5:10 p.m. on Friday in Fanwood. Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo stated that the 23-year-old was operating a 2011 Nissan sedan when her vehicle collided in the intersection with a 1995 Ford minivan. The minivan was operated by a 74-year-old Mountainside resident. The 74-year-old did not sustain any injuries. Police are still investigating the accident to determine who was at fault. The 23-year-old sustained injuries to most of the left side of her body and complained of pain in her neck, back, left leg, and left shoulder. The man told the police he was on methadone. My kids play and my neighbors kids live and play here! So I hope he goes to jail! Also, he was driving on the wrong side pf North ave before he hit the tree putting many lives in jeopardy.   more ›
