Westfield Wrestling Wins Battle of Unbeaten Squads Against Scotch Plains

The Westfield wrestling team defeated previously unbeaten Scotch Plains 33-27.

With a capacity crowd on hand, Westfield and Scotch Plains put on a show with a thrilling match that saw the Blue Devils hand the Raiders their first lost of the season. The fate of the match was up in the air all the way until the final bout of the evening, the 170 weight class. The enthusiasm and passion of the crowd was evident from the opening whistle and each passing bout added to the tension of the match. There was no love lost between the two rivals with neither wanting to drop the "0" from their record. A key overtime victory by the Blue Devils in the gut-wrenching 152 bout swung the momentum towards Westfield, who needed every bout to seal the 33-27 victory.   Results
