Congress Shelves $60 Million In Sandy Recovery Money; Local Reps Blame GOP

Frank Lautenberg and other New Jersey-area congressman rip Congressional leadership for failing to pass the bill

  Democrats blasted Congressional Republicans on Wednesday for not passing a bill that would fund $60 million toward Sandy recovery efforts. In a release, Sen. Frank Lautenberg said the move denies aid to "families, communities and businesses that were devastated by one of the worst storms to ever hit the United States. “Denying emergency aid to Superstorm Sandy victims is a new low for House Republicans,” Lautenberg said. Laurenberg said Congress should put partisan politics aside, as it does for other disaster recovery efforts, and "extend a helping hand to help them get back up. Legislator Performs at Stone Pony Sandy Benefit

Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick, appeared at the Stone Pony night club to raise funds for those who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Bramnick, Freeholders to Host Panel on Filing Post-Sandy Recovery Claims

Seminar at Union County College on Wed., Nov. 14, will tell residents on how to file FEMA and insurance claims, post-Sandy.

The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Assemblyman Jon Bramnick will host a Hurricane Sandy Recovery Information Session for the public on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7p.m. in the Roy Smith Theater on the Cranford campus of Union County College. The College is located at 1033 Springfield Avenue in Cranford. “We need to provide clear and concise information on how to file claims.” said Assemblyman Bramnick, who  represents the 21st District, which includes 10 municipalities in Union County. “We are scheduling this information session as a means of directly communicating with residents who suffered any impacts during the storm,” said Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella.  “They can obtain the advice and information they need from …
